Academic Life

At Bridgewater Christian Academy, our heart is to walk alongside each child during these foundational years—guiding them as they grow academically, spiritually, and personally. We are committed to building a strong foundation that equips each student to move forward with confidence, purpose, and a deep understanding of who they are in Christ.

Our comprehensive academic program includes Bible, Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Art, Physical Education, and STEM, all taught through the lens of a biblical worldview. We are committed to providing a rich, engaging education that nurtures curiosity, critical thinking, creativity, and a lifelong love of learning.

To support academic excellence, we have carefully selected high-quality, Christian curricula that align with our mission and educational philosophy. We use Summit Ministries’ Bible curriculum to provide students with a strong foundation in biblical truth, faith, and character development, Master Books as our primary curriculum for Language Arts, Science, and Social Studies, Art and P.E., Singapore Dimensions Math to develop deep mathematical understanding and problem-solving skills, and the Institute for Excellence in Writing (IEW) curriculum to cultivate strong writing, communication, and critical thinking abilities.

Through this thoughtfully designed program, students receive individualized instruction in a small-classroom setting where they are encouraged to discover their God-given gifts, pursue academic excellence, develop Christ-like character, and grow into confident, compassionate leaders who are prepared to impact their communities for God's glory.

KINDERGARTEN

Our Kindergarten program offers a joyful and nurturing beginning to your child’s educational journey within a Christ-centered environment. We believe these early years matter deeply, and we intentionally create a space where children feel known, loved, and excited to learn each day.

Through hands-on learning, strong early literacy and math instruction, and engaging, age-appropriate activities, students begin building the foundational skills they will carry with them throughout our K–2 program. We focus on developing confident readers, thoughtful problem-solvers, and curious learners while maintaining a gentle, supportive approach that meets each child where they are.

Our teaching is rooted in a Biblical worldview, meaning that faith is thoughtfully woven into each part of the day. Students are encouraged to see God’s truth reflected in what they learn, while also growing in character, kindness, and a love for others.

1ST GRADE

Our 1st Grade program builds thoughtfully on the strong foundation established in Kindergarten, helping students grow into confident, capable learners within a Christ-centered environment. At this stage, children begin to deepen their skills while also developing greater independence and a love for meaningful learning.

Through intentional instruction in reading, writing, and mathematics, students continue to strengthen the foundational skills introduced in the early years. We place a strong emphasis on developing fluent readers, thoughtful writers, and confident problem-solvers, while gently increasing academic rigor in a way that is both supportive and encouraging.

Our teaching is rooted in a Biblical worldview, where faith is naturally integrated into daily learning. Students are guided to see God’s truth in all subjects, while also growing in character, responsibility, and kindness toward others.

First grade plays an important role in building academic readiness and confidence.

2ND GRADE

Our 2nd Grade program continues to build on the strong foundation developed in the early years, guiding students toward greater confidence, independence, and a deeper love for learning within a Christ-centered environment.

At this stage, students strengthen and refine their skills in reading, writing, and mathematics, while academic expectations gently increase to prepare them for the next level. We focus on developing strong, capable learners who can think critically, express their ideas clearly, and approach challenges with confidence.

Students also explore science, history, and the world around them through engaging, meaningful lessons that spark curiosity and wonder. Throughout all subjects, we intentionally integrate a Biblical worldview, helping students understand God’s truth and see His hand in creation and in their learning.

Character development remains at the heart of our program. Students are encouraged to grow in responsibility, kindness, and integrity, learning to apply biblical values in their daily actions and relationships.

Second grade plays an important role in solidifying foundational skills while preparing students—academically and spiritually—for continued growth.
